Golden Lane Estate

Situated right next to the more famous Barbican estate, I prefer this Corbusian estate. It is much brighter, and although a bit rundown, and decidedly empty, I just really like the fifties-ness of it. Designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, who enetered the competition seperately but made a deal that if one of them should win, they would set up a practice together to complete the commission, it was opened between 1957 and 1965.

I've never been in a flat, but due to their open nature and big windows, you can see how light and open they are. I found these images of a flat for sale in the estate on an estate agents website. Yup, I wouldn't mind a flat here.
