It's amazing how many great buildings, nice squares and huge expanses of gardens and land are right here in the centre of London, but hidden away from the general public. These two Inns of Court are like a secret city. You enter a small doorway of Fleet Street, and come across a very large and very valuable piece of real estate. The Inns of Court are professional bodies, set up to train and govern the barristers and judges who work in the nearby courts of law, such as the Royal Courts of Justice. Inner temple was originally an actual temple, set up in the 12th century by the Knights Templar. The first legal people to be housed here came in the 14th century.
