Olympic Torch Down Bow

I was out and about, when I came across the olympic torch route. So many police, volunteers, vehicles, coca cola vans etc, you can see why the olympics budget is as colossal as it is.

And on the theme of vast expenditure, I was out and about at midnight, and saw this down City Road, a couple of minutes from my flat. I stopped counting the amount of reflective jacketted workies at about 50. There were 3 huge convoys of trucks, one painting out the signs that were already painted on the road, another about ten minutes behind painting the "&" signs, and a third painting the olympic rings. Surely a sign saying "Olympic vehicles can use the bus lane" would have sufficed?
